Jacqueline Tientcheu, Jacqueline Tientcheu, the first Cameroonian entrepreneur to export her products under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), will no longer have to worry about understanding the terms and laws associated with this tool. She took part, from November 20 to 25, in Niamey, Niger, in the events of the Week of Industrialization of Africa held on the sidelines of the 7th extraordinary summit of heads of state.
In addition to Cameroon, she represented the Federation of Organizations of Women Entrepreneurs of Central Africa, as president of the association. Indeed, during this meeting, the AfCFTA Secretariat and the International Trade Centre presented the glossary containing the 100 technical terms inherent to the AfCFTA. The aim is to help SMEs better understand what the agreement means to them. The glossary is available in English and will soon be available in French, Arabic and Portuguese.
« “We were very pleased with the glossary that was made available to private sector businessmen, especially women and youth. This glossary is like a dictionary that aims to facilitate the understanding of young people and women who are in the guided trade. This shows how much the Secretary General of AfCFTA would like to help young people and women to appropriate the laws that govern guided trade. This is an initiative to be congratulated, ” said Jacqueline Tientcheu.
